Episode 1: Edge of Tomorty: Rick Die Rickpeat

My favorite Rick and Morty episodes are always the variety ones like Interdimensional Cable and Morty's Mind Blowers, so it makes sense to start off the season strong with some dimension hopping. The twist on the Jessica vision was just perfect bleak Rick and Morty humor. Also, this episode probably gave me my favorite Rick and Morty quote of all time: "I don't wanna see any more an-i-me stuff happening to my son, buster." Because of course Jerry pronounces anime like that. If you loved this episode too, check out our merch!

Episode 2: The Old Man and the Seat

Rick and Morty always sits on the edge of potty humor and nihilistic cruelty, with a dash of existential despair. This episode, revolving around a toilet and Rick's pettiness and loneliness, is a literal depiction of that. Another Rick and Morty classic is Lovefinderrz and Jerry's ineptitude. This episode generated one of the top holiday sellers of the season so far, including the crown and sad Rick sitting on his throne.

Episode 3: One Crew over the Crewcoo's Morty

Dan Harmon is pretty great at genre-parody, so, to hear they were putting on an episode riffing on heist films? You son of a bitch, I'm in. The absurd twist after double-cross after twist after triple-cross is great. Rick's meta-commentary on how much he hates crew assembly while most of the episode is something that only Harmon and Roiland's team could come up with. And who could forget the actual return of Mr, well, Professor Poopybutthole's return as Professor Poopybutthole?

Episode 4: Claw and Hoarder: Special Ricktim's Morty

The one where Morty gets a dragon. I can't believe this show introduced Slut Dragons into media, but they're here and this is our lives now. Dragon riding always gets big swelling orchestral music and cries of joy in the movies, and we guess we all missed the part where it was basically borderline sexual euphoria? Now the music and cheering makes sense. I don't have much to say about this one besides, well, Slut Dragons.. Oh, and Jerry's in this one too with a talking cat. Get your Balthromaw Pastel pin or Rick Riding Balthromaw in the never ending story of Rick and Morty.

Episode 5: Rattlestar Ricklactica

Space snakes and time travel, because, why the heck not? Snake society is basically the same as ours, which in and of itself is just kind of funny on its own. The joke is only better considering that the snakes don't talk, only hiss, and there's no subtitles to explain it either so you just watch them go through the plot of Arrival (but with snake sex??) in hisses for the first part of the episode. Then, because its Rick and Morty, it basically becomes Terminator, but for...snakes. Also, because it's Rick and Morty, we get a return from Season 2, the Time Police and the scrotal-looking violence loving aliens who enforce it. Again, another episode full of good Jerry content too! From this episode we've got I Want to Believe HISSSS pin, since Rick and Morty are the aliens to the Snakes, and the creepy mutated clone of Jerry's head, because how else can you emulate voices?
